Before going to Bochum, I had wanted to have a Tonkatsu-Party with a friend in Freiburg, but for weeks we couldn’t agree on a date, where we both had time. So, in order to stop my craving for tasty Katsu, I took the chance and ordered Katsu-Don. It was a nice start for the day, but because I often suddenly get hungry, I bought an “emergency Onigiri” at a small Japanese shop right next to the Don. It turned out, that there would be enough food on this day, but you can never know before ^^

After lunch, we walked around Düsseldorf, had nice Oolong tea at the Shennong Tea House and finally went for dinner at the “Kushi-tei of Tokyo” restaurant. We did reserve a table, which turned out to be a necessity, because people were already waiting in line for a seat. As I couldn’t read the menu card (what’s worse than Kanji? Stylishly hand-written Kanji…), I relied on the recommendations of my friend Haruka. He ordered 芥子レンコン、スタミナ冷や奴、あさり、たこ焼き、焼き鳥　and　鍋焼きうどん。

I had an oishii Asahi beer first, but later we changed to the real thing: Sake. Kanpei! All in all, it was a really nice evening, full of tasty Japanese food and quality time with my friends. I’m already looking forward to living with them in Tokyo!
